ROCK WITH YOU

France, but make it an island. And make it one of my favorite islands. My appreciation for St. Barths runs incredibly deep. Not just because it combines my love of the ocean with my love of croissants, but because it is an island filled with warm and lovely people, incredible outdoor activities for families, and breathtaking views everywhere you turn.

When we travel as a family, I’m always asking myself three questions:

1) What can we do as a family?

2) What can my kids do on their own?

3) What can my husband and I do without the kids?

While the island itself has plenty to offer in each of those categories, it helps to stay somewhere that can do it all under one breezy, open-aired roof. And for this, we love Eden Rock.

Let’s start with the check-in process. Instead of a traditional desk, as you enter you are greeted and seated at the Rémy Bar & Salon, overlooking the water. Then comes a little game where they have you pick a card, which is of course then used as inspiration for a specialty cocktail, based on that card. My kinda card game.

The staff is so nice and every time you order or show a preference for a snack, drink or activity, it’s like they’ve immediately and quietly alerted everyone else, so that you feel like they’ve known you for years. Or maybe my Louisanna accent just carries well over the water. Either way, it’s wonderful.

Throughout the stay, you’ll be surprised with little gifts in the room, like individual beach bags with your initials on them, branded wireless chargers and even treasure chest with their house rum inside.
